Today Marks The 45th Anniversary of A Taste of Honey’s 2nd Studio Album “Another Taste” Originally Released on June 18, 1979.

“Another Taste” is the second studio album by the American disco/funk band “A Taste of Honey" released in 1979 on Capitol Records.

The album reached #26 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LPs chart and at #59 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.

Two songs were released as singles "Do It Good" and “Race”.

"Do It Good" peaked at #13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart, #72 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and at #79 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Race” was the second single released from the album it failed to reach the Billboard charts.

The album was produced by Larry Mizell & Fonce Mizell and was co-produced by A Taste of Honey.

Klymaxx - Never Underestimate the Power of a Woman

 Today Marks The 43rd Anniversary of Klymaxx’s Debut Studio Album “Never Underestimate the Power of a Woman” Originally Released on June 17, 1981.

“Never Underestimate the Power of a Woman” is the debut album by all-female R&B Funk band Klymaxx. Released in 1981 on SOLAR Records.

The album was produced by Lakeside’s band members Stephen Shockley and Otis Stokes, both also contributed to some of the album’s song writing as well.

The album’s title “Never Underestimate the Power of a Woman” is taken from an American magazine last published by the Meredith Corporation.

Upon the album’s release it failed to reach the Billboard charts.

Two songs were released from the album the title track “Never Underestimate the Power of a Woman” and "I Want to Love You Tonight".

“Never Underestimate the Power of a Woman” reached #74 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Song chart.

The second single "I Want to Love You Tonight" failed to reach the Billboard charts.

Today Marks The 46th Anniversary of Switch’s Self-Titled Debut Album “Switch” Originally Released on June 17, 1978.

“Switch” is the first album by Ohio-based soul/funk band Switch released in 1978 on Gordy Records.

The album peaked at #6 on the U.S. Billboard Top Soul LPs chart and at #37 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.

"There'll Never Be" was released as the album’s lead single it peaked #6 on the U.S. Billboard R&B Singles chart and at #36 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

“"I Wanna Be Closer" was released as the album’s second single it reached #22 on the U.S. Billboard R&B Singles chart.

The album was produced and arranged by Switch band members Gregory Williams, Bobby DeBarge and Jody Sims. It was overseen by The Buley Brothers and was executively produced by Jermaine and Hazel Jackson.

Today Marks The 39th Anniversary of Cameo’s 11th Studio Album “Single Life” Originally Released on June 17, 1985.

The album peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 58 on the U.S. Billboard Pop Albums chart.

The album released three singles "Attack Me with Your Love", The album’s title track "Single Life" and the song “A Good-Bye”.

"Attack Me with Your Love" peaked at #3 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and at #39 on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.

The album’s title track “Single Life” peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and at #26 on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.

The third single “A Good-Bye” reached #76 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart

The album “Single Life” was Cameo’s seventh to be certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies.

“Destination: Sun” is the fourth studio album by Dayton, Ohio funk band Sun released in 1979 on Capitol Records.

The album reached #17 on the U.S. Billboard Top Soul Albums chart and at #85 on the U.S. Billboard Pop Albums chart.

Two songs were released from the album as singles "Pure Fire" and "Radiation Level".

"Pure Fire" reached #65 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart.

"Radiation Level" reached #25 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart.

Destination: Sun’s album cover-art was designed by Japanese illustrator Shusei Nagaoka whose best known for music album cover art in the 1970s and 1980s. Artists for whom he illustrated covers include Electric Light Orchestra, Earth, Wind & Fire, Deep Purple, Space, Maze, George Clinton, Kitaro, Rose Royce, Caldera, and Pure Prairie League.
