Today Marks The 46th Anniversary of Switch’s Self-Titled Debut Album “Switch” Originally Released on June 17, 1978.
“Switch” is the first album by Ohio-based soul/funk band Switch released in 1978 on Gordy Records.
The album peaked at #6 on the U.S. Billboard Top Soul LPs chart and at #37 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.
“"I Wanna Be Closer" was released as the album’s second single it reached #22 on the U.S. Billboard R&B Singles chart.
The album was produced and arranged by Switch band members Gregory Williams, Bobby DeBarge and Jody Sims. It was overseen by The Buley Brothers and was executively produced by Jermaine and Hazel Jackson.
