Rufus - Rufusized

Today Marks The 51st Anniversary of Rufus' 3rd Studio Album "Rufusized" Originally Released December 7, 1974.

 

Rufusized is the gold-selling third studio album by funk band Rufus, on the ABC Records released in 1974 and their second album release that year.

 

The album peaked at #7 on the Billboard album chart the week ending March 1, 1975.

 

Two singles were released from the album, "Once You Get Started" and "Please Pardon Me (You Remind Me of a Friend)".

 

"Once You Get Started" peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1975, giving the group their second top ten single and third top forty single overall.

 

The song also hit number-four on the Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart as well as number six on the Record World, Disco File Top 20 chart.

 

Please Pardon Me (You Remind Me of a Friend) peaked at #6 on the Billboard

Hot Soul Singles chart at #48 on the Billboard Hot 100.

 

With songs such as the hits "Once You Get Started" and "Please Pardon Me" and album favorites such as the funky "Somebody's Watching You", "Pack'd My Bags" and "I'm a Woman" (which predated Khan's popular hit "I'm Every Woman" by four years), Rufus ended 1974 as rookie stars and entered 1975 as headliners.
