Today Marks The 52nd Anniversary of Tower of Powers’ 5th Studio Album “Urban Renewal” Originally Releasedl on January 2, 1975.

“Urban Renewal” is the fifth studio album by Oakland, California Jazz-funk band Tower of Power released in 1975 on Warner Bros. Records.

The album reached #19 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP's chart, and at #22 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.

Two songs were released from the album, "Willing to Learn" and "Only So Much Oil in the Ground".

"Willing to Learn" reached #77 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.

"Only So Much Oil in the Ground" reached #85 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.

Urban Renewal is the final studio album that features vocalist Lenny Williams, known for his powerful delivery, making it a significant release.

The album is considered a must-have for anyone into classic funk and soul, especially fans of the 70s sound.
