Today Marks The 51st Anniversary of The J.B.'s 6th Studio Album “Hustle with Speed” Originally Released on January 1, 1975.
“Hustle with Speed” is the sixth studio album by The J.B.'s, released in 1975 by People Records.
“Hustle With Speed” is an often overlooked J.B.'s album it was more disco oriented but funky however it was a commercial disappointment and didn’t take off like the band anticipated however many of the album’s songs were sampled by artists like Jay-Z, Nas, Eric B. & Rakim, Ultramagnetic MCs, EPMD, and many more.
Many of the album’s tracks are quite longer than on some of their earlier singles, "(It's Not The Express) It's the JBs Monourail" is eight minutes long , the song is an answer to B.T. Express' theme song, “Express “. Another great tune is the group's version of Sly &The Family Stone’s classic "Thank You For Letting Me Be Myself", which runs for nearly 10 minutes.
Other funky standout songs are Taurus, Aries & Leo” and “Transmograpfication”.
