Today Marks The 45th Anniversary of Tom Browne’s 4th Studio Album “Magic” Originally Released on January 1, 1981.

“Magic” is the fourth studio album by American jazz trumpeter Tom Browne released in 1981 on Arista Records.

The album peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Jazz Albums chart, #5 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP's chart and at #37 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.

Two songs were released from the album "Thighs High (Grip Your Hips and Move)" and "Let's Dance".

"Thighs High (Grip Your Hips and Move)" peaked at #4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart and at #25 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Song chart.

"Let's Dance" the second single from the album, it reached #69 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.

Thighs High (Grip Your Hips and Move) features vocals by Toni Smith.

The song "God Bless the Child" is a cover version of Billie Holiday’s song.
