Today Marks The 39th Anniversary of The Gap Band’s 10th Studio Album “The Gap Band 8” Originally Released on December 1, 1986.

 

“Gap Band 8” is the 10th studio album by R&B and funk band The Gap Band released in 1986 on Total Experience Records.

 

The album reached #29 on the U.S. Billboard Top Black Albums chart.

 

The album includes the singles "Big Fun", "How Music Came About" and "Zibble, Zibble (Get the Money)" (also known as "Get Loose, Get Funky").

 

"Big Fun" peaked at #8 on the U.S. Black Singles chart.

 

"Zibble, Zibble (Get the Money) (AKA: Get Loose, Get Funky)" peaked at #15 on the U.S. Black Singles chart.

 

"How Music Came About" didn’t chart in the United States but it reached #61 on the United Kingdom Pop charts.

 

The album was expanded and remastered in 2011 by Big Break Records including 6 additional bonus tracks.
