Today Marks The 46th Anniversary of Parliament's 8Th Studio Album "Gloryhallastoopid (Or Pin the Tale on the Funky)" Originally Released in November 20, 1979.
Gloryhallastoopid (Or Pin the Tale on the Funky) is the eighth album by the funk ensemble Parliament.
The album peaked at #44 on the Billboard 200 charts.
The albums's lead single "Party People" peaked at #39 on the Billboard R&B chart.
"Gloryhallastoopid (Or Pin the Tale on the Funky)" was their penultimate album on the Casablanca Records label, and is another concept album which tries to explain that Funk was responsible for the creation of the universe (see P Funk mythology). It reuses samples from previous albums, notably the Mothership Connection and Funkentelechy vs. the Placebo Syndrome.
