Today Marks The 44th Anniversary of Earth Wind & Fire’s 11th Studio Album “Raise!” Originally Released on November 14, 1981.
“Raise!” is the eleventh studio album by soul/funk band Earth, Wind & Fire, released in 1981 on ARC/Columbia Records.
The album peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP's chart, and at #5 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes charts.
Three songs were released as singles from the album "Let's Groove". "Wanna Be with You" , and "I've Had Enough".
"Let's Groove" peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart, and at #3 on both the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs and the Billboard Hot 100.
"Wanna Be with You" reached #15 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart, and at #51 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
"I've Had Enough" was released as a single in the United Kingdom, it reached #29 on the UK Pop Singles charts.
"Wanna Be with You" also won a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group.
The album was produced by bandleader Maurice White. The album marked the return of rhythm guitarist Roland Bautista, who last played upon 1972's Last Days and Time.
The album cover art was designed by Roger Carpenter and Raise! was illustrated by Shusei Nagaoka.
The album was certified Platinum in the US by the RIAA.
The album “Raise!” was reissued in 2015 with seven bonus tracks.
