Chic - Believer

Today Marks The 42nd Anniversary of Chic’s 7th Studio Album “Believer” Originally Released on November 14, 1983.

 

“Believer” is the seventh studio album by disc/funk band Chic released in 1983 on Atlantic Records.

 

Upon its release the album failed to chart in the United States, However it charted in the Netherlands reaching #14 on the Dutch Album Top 100.

 

Three songs were released as singles from the album "Give Me the Lovin'", "You Are Beautiful", and "Party Everybody".

 

"Give Me the Lovin'" reached #57 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.

 

"You Are Beautiful" failed to chart in the United States but peaked at #6 in the Netherlands on the Dutch Top 40 charts.

 

"Party Everybody" reached #43 in the Netherlands on the Dutch Top 40 charts.

 

“Believer” was the last album for the Atlantic Records label, and the last featuring the classic line-up of Nile Rodgers, Bernard Edwards, Alfa Anderson, Luci Martin, and Tony Thompson.

 

“Believer” was transferred to compact disc and re-released by Atlantic Records/Warner Music in 1991.

 

The album was digitally remastered and re-issued by Wounded Bird Records in 2006.
