Chic - Take It Off

Today Marks The 44th Anniversary of Chic’s 5th Studio Album “Take It Off” Originally Released on November 16, 1981.

 

“Take It Off” is the fifth studio album by disc/funk band Chic released in 1981 on Atlantic Records.

 

The album reached #36 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP's chart, and at #124 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes charts.

 

The song "Stage Fright" was released as the album’s lead single it reached #34 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.

 

“Take It Off” was one of three albums written and produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers in 1981, the other two being Blondie lead singer Debbie Harry's debut solo album Koo Koo and Johnny Mathis' I Love My Lady.

 

The album “Take It Off” was transferred to CD and re-released by Atlantic Records/Warner Music in 1991. It was digitally remastered and reissued by Wounded Bird Records in 2006.
