Platypus - Cherry

Today Marks The 45th Anniversary of Platypus’ 2nd Studio Album “Cherry” Originally Released on June 20, 1980.

“Cherry” is the second studio album by Dayton, Ohio funk band Platypus released in 1980 on Casablanca Records.

“Cherry was the band’s second studio album which failed to chart on the Billboard charts,

Two songs were released as singles from the album “Color Blind” and “Appreciate Your Love” both singles were released a month apart but failed to chart either due to poor promotion or distribution.

The band was part of the Dayton, Ohio funk scene, a hub for funk bands in the 70s and 80s.

Despite not being as well-known as some other Dayton funk bands with chart hits, their music is still appreciated.
