Today Marks The 41st Anniversary of Midnight Star’s 4th Studio Album “No Parking on the Dance Floor” Originally Released on June 6, 1983.
No Parking on the Dance Floor is an album by American R&B band Midnight Star, released on June 6, 1983 by SOLAR Records.
The album peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Top Soul Albums chart and at #27 on the U.S. Billboard Pop Albums charts.
Four songs were released as singles "Freak-A-Zoid", "Wet My Whistle", the title track "No Parking (On the Dance Floor)" and "Night Rider".
"Freak-A-Zoid" peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart, #44 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and at #66 on The Billboard Hot 100 chart.
"Wet My Whistle" peaked at #8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart, #15 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and at #61 on The Billboard Hot 100 chart.
"No Parking (On the Dance Floor)" peaked at #43 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart, #44 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and at #81 on The Billboard Hot 100 chart.
"Night Rider" was released as the album’s fourth single but failed to chart on the Billboard charts.
"Slow Jam" though it wasn’t officially released as a single it became quite storm classic as it was in rotation on urban airways.
The song “Electricity” also received fair radio plays it was also popular in nightclubs.
No Parking (On the Dance Floor)" was Midnight Star's most successful album.
