The Deele - Street Beat

Today Marks The 43rd Anniversary of The Deele's Debut Album "Street Beat” Originally Released April 11, 1983.

 

Street Beat is the debut album by Cincinnati, Ohio funk band The Deele released on SOLAR Records.

 

The album peaked at #78 on the

Billboard Pop Albums chart and at #9 on the Top Soul Albums chart.

 

Three singles were released from the album, "Just My Luck", "Body Talk and "I Surrender".

 

"Just My Luck" peaked at #25 on the Billboard The Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs songs chart.

 

"Body Talk" peaked at #77 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at #10 on the Billboard R&B singles chart.

 

"I Surrender" peaked at #66 on the Billboard R&B singles chart.

 

The album was produced by Midnight Star member Reggie Calloway.

 

In the 2016 at the BET Honors, The Deele featuring Babyface and Reid reunited on stage performing "Body Talk" and their smash hit "Two Occasions"with their old bandmates on stage, The performance led to a more permanent reunion of the classic Deele lineup that has continued to the present.
