Today Marks 48th The Anniversary of James Brown’s 46th Studio Album “Jam 1980's” Originally Released on March 1, 1978.
“Jam 1980's” is the forty-sixth studio album by soul-funk musician James Brown released in 1978 on Polydor Records.
The album was a late-70s funk/disco effort that failed to generate any major chart hits, reflecting his commercial downturn during that time period.
Three songs were released as singles from the album, “Eyesight”, "The Spank", and "Nature".
“Eyesight” reached #38 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.
"The Spank" reached #26 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.
"Nature" the album’s third single failed to chart on the Billboard charts.
The song "Jam" was praised by The Ottawa Journal calling the song "Jam" is "a masterpiece of disco soul."
