Today Marks The 53rd Anniversary of Cymande’s 2nd Studio Album “Second Time Round” Originally Released on January 1, 1973.
“Second Time Round” is the second studio album by British funk group Cymande. released in 1973 on Janus Records.
The album reached #42 on the U.S. Soul LP's charts, and at #180 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes charts.
The song "FUG" was released as a single from the album it failed to chart in the United States.
Other standout tracks include "Anthracite", "Willy's Headache" and "Genevieve".
The album was produced by John Schroeder.
The album exemplifies Cymande's "Nyah-rock" sound, blending Caribbean, African, funk, and jazz elements into a unique, danceable stew.
