Today Marks The 51s Anniversary of The Ohio Players 6th Studio Album "Fire" Originally Released on November 1, 1974.
“Fire” is the sixth studio album by Dayton, Ohio Jazz/funk band Ohio Players and the second released through the Mercury Records.
The album peaked at #1 in Billboard's Top LPs chart and at #1 on Billboard's Top Soul LPs chart.
The album's lead single "Fire” topped both the Billboard Pop Albums chart and the Billboard R&B Albums chart where it held at #1 for five weeks in early 1975.
The album's second single released "I Want to Be Free" peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart and #44 on The Billboard Hot 100.
“Fire” was one of the Ohio Players' greatest albums triumphs both commercially and artistically.
