Today Marks The 47th Anniversary of A Taste of Honey’s Debut Self-Titled Studio Album “A Taste of Honey” Originally Released on July 1, 1978.

“A Taste of Honey” is the debut studio album by Los Angeles, California band

A Taste of Honey released in 1978 on Capitol Records.

The album peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP's chart, and at #6 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.

Two songs were released as singles from the album "Boogie Oogie Oogie" and

"Boogie Oogie Oogie" peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Soul Singles, Hot Dance, and the Billboard Hot 100.

The song also peaked at #3 on the UK Official Charts.

"Disco Dancin'" reached #69 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.

"Boogie Oogie Oogie" was used in the films At Close Range, Barcelona, The Watermelon Woman, Contact, Breast Men, The Big Heist, Mystery Men, Screwed, Canvas, All Good Things, Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool, and The Nice Guys.

The song has been featured in the video games Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony and Boogie.

The group was awarded two platinum records for the single and the album, and they won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist at the 20th Grammys on February 15, 1979.

The album was produced by Fonce Mizell and Larry Mizell for Sky High Productions.
