Today Marks The 44th Anniversary of The Brothers Johnson’s 5th Studio Album “Winners” Originally Released on June 29, 1981.

“Winners” is the fifth studio album by American funk and R&B band The Brothers Johnson released in 1981 on A&M Records.

The album peaked at #10 on the U.S. Billboard Top Soul Albums chart and at #48 on the U.S. Billboard Pop Albums chart.

Two songs were released as singles “The Real Thing” and “Dancin' Free”

“The Real Thing” peaked at #11 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart and at #67 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

“Dancin' Free” reached #51 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.
