Today Marks The 49th Anniversary of The Emotions’ 3rd Studio Album “Flowers” Originally Released on May 11, 1976.
Flowers is the debut studio album by the American girl group The Emotions, released in 1976. The album was the group's first LP on Columbia Records,
The album peaked at #5 on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B albums chart and at #45 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs chart.
Two singles were released from the album, The title track “Flowers” and the second single "I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love".
“Flowers” peaked at #16 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Songs chart and at #87 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
"I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love" peaked at #4 on the U.S. 4 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and at #13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles charts.
The album was produced by Charles Stepney and Maurice White of Earth, Wind and Fire.
“Flowers” has been certified Gold in the US by the RIAA.
The album was reissued with an 8-page booklet, liner notes and a bonus track in 2012.
