Today Marks The 41st Anniversary of O'Bryan’s 3rd Studio Album “Be My Lover” Originally Released on May 18, 1984.
“Be My Lover” is the third studio album by Soul, Funk singer O'Bryan released in 1984 on Capitol Records.
The album peaked at #3 on the U.S. Billboard Black LPs chart, and at #64 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.
Three songs were released as singles from the album, "Lovelite", "Breakin' Together" and "Go On And Cry".
"Lovelite" peaked at # 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.
"Breakin' Together" reached #32 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.
"Go On And Cry" reached #62 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.
"Lady I Love You" was another fan favorite, although the song wasn't released as an official single it received heavy rotation on urban radio stations abroad the United States.
"You’re Always On My Mind” was another fan favorite off the album.
The album was produced by O’Byan and was executively produced by Don Cornelius.
