Today Marks The 44th Anniversary of The S.O.S. Band’s Debut Studio Album “S.O.S.” Originally Released on June 2, 1980.

“S.O.S.” is the debut studio album by R&B/funk band The S.O.S. Band released in 1980 on Tabu Records.

The album peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and at #12 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

Three singles were released from the album "Take Your Time (Do It Right)", "S.O.S. (Dit Dit Dit Dash Dash Dash Dit Dit Dit)" and "What's Wrong with Our Love Affair?".

"Take Your Time (Do It Right)" peaked at #1 on both of the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs charts. The song also rose to #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

"S.O.S. (Dit Dit Dit Dash Dash Dash Dit Dit Dit)" reached #20 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and at #54 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

"What's Wrong with Our Love Affair?" reached

#87 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

The album was a hit at nightclubs and "Take Your Time (Do It Right)" became a disco classic.
