Today Marks The 42nd Anniversary of The Pointer Sisters’ 9th Studio Album “So Excited!” Originally Released on June 29, 1982.
“So Excited!” is the ninth studio album by the Pointer Sisters, released in 1982 on Planet Records.
The album reached #24 on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and at #59 on the U.S. US Billboard 200 chart.
"American Music" peaked at #9 on the U.S. Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, #23 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and at #16 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
“I'm So Excited” reached #28 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, #30 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #46 on U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
“If You Wanna Get Back Your Lady” reached #44 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, #48 on the U.S. Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and #67 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
"See How the Love Goes", was supposed to be the actual third single from the album, However it was shelved due to its controversial subject matter.
Prince’s song “I Feel for You” was covered by the Pointer Sisters, They were the first artist to release a cover version of the song in 1983. Chaka Khan’s version was released in 1984 on the album of the same name.
The album was remastered and issued on CD with bonus tracks in 2010 by Big Break Records.
