The Meters - New Directions

Today Marks The 47th Anniversary of The Meters 8th Studio Album “New Directions” Originally Released in June 1,1977.
“New Directions” is the eighth and studio album by the funk band the Meters, released in 1977 on Warner Bros. Records.
Upon release the album failed to reach the Billboard charts.
The song “Be My Lady” was released as a single from the album. The song reached #78 on both the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles and the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
The album was the band's only album recorded outside New Orleans. The album features the Oakland-based Tower of Power horn section.
