Today Marks The 15th Anniversary of Teena Marie’s 13th Studio Anniversary “Congo Square” Originally Released on June 9, 2009.

“Congo Square” is the thirteenth studio album by American singer and songwriter Teena Marie. was released on Stax Records.

“Congo Square” peaked at #4 on the US R&B Albums chart and #20 on the Billboard 200.

Two songs were released as singles from the album "Can't Last a Day" and You Baby".

"Can't Last a Day" Day", a duet with Faith Evans, peaked at #41 on the U.S. Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart and at #41 on the U.S. Billboard R&B singles chart.

“You Baby" reached #100 on the U.S. Billboard R&B singles chart.

The album features collaborations with Teena Marie's daughter Alia Rose—who records under the name of Rose LeBeau—and rapper MC Lyte, as well as Faith Evans, George Duke and Shirley Murdock.

“Congo Square” would be Teena Marie’s only album for the revived Stax label and the final album released before her death in late December 2010.
