Today Marks The 43rd Anniversary of Teena Marie’s 4th Studio Album “It Must Be Magic” Originally Released on May 14, 1981,

“It Must Be Magic” is the fourth studio album by Teena Marie, released on May 14, 1981 via Gordy Records.
The album peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Black Albums chart and at #23 on the U.S. Billboard Pop Albums chart.
Three songs were released as singles from the album "Square Biz", "It Must Be Magic" and "Portuguese Love".
"Square Biz" peaked at #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, #12 on the U.S. Billboard US Dance Club Songs chart and at #50 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
"It Must Be Magic" peaked 12 on the U.S. Billboard US Dance Club Songs chart and at #30 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
"Portuguese Love" peaked at #54 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
“It Must Be Magic” was her last studio album for Motown and the highest-selling of Marie's tenure with the Motown label.
The album a nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1982 Grammy Awards.
In 2002, the album was re-released in a remastered and expanded CD edition containing three additional tracks (two of which were recorded during a live concert in Long Beach, California).
