Déja - Made to Be Together


Today Marks The 35th Anniversary of Déja’s 2nd Studio Album “Made to Be Together" Originally Released on May 12, 1989.

“Made to Be Together" is the second studio album by R&B/funk duo Déjà released in 1989 on Virgin Records.
The album reached #96 on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Three singles were released from the album "Going Crazy", the album’s title track "Made to Be Together" and "Heart Beat".
"Going Crazy" peaked at #57 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
“Made to Be Together” reached #23 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
"Heart Beat" was released as the album’s third single but it failed to make the Billboard charts.
Déjà formerly known as Aurra changed the group’s name due to legal issues over the band’s name which led to members Curt Jones and Starleana Young to record under the name Déja.
The duo released their first album “Serious” on Virgin Records in 1987. Shortly after Starleana Young decided to leave to pursue a solo career and was replaced by Mysti Day in time to record Déja's follow-up album.
The resulting album, “Made to Be Together” was released in 1989 it would be the group’s second and final album.
