Cameo - She's Strange


Today Marks The 40th Anniversary of Cameo’s 10th Studio Album “She's Strange” Originally Released on January 16, 1984.

She's Strange is the tenth album by the funkband Cameo, released in 1984 on Atlanta Artist Records.
The album peaked at number 24 on the Billboard 200 chart and at number 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Three singles were released from the album “She’s Strange”, Talkin’ Out The Side Of Your Neck" and “Hangin’ Downtown".
She’s Strange peaked at number 47 on the Billboard 100 Singles chart it stayed on the charts for a number of 11 weeks.
"Talkin’ Out The Side Of Your Neck" peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.
The track "Talking Out the Side of Your Neck" is a commonly performed arrangement amongst marching bands, especially those from HBCUs.
The third single from the album “Hangin’ Downtown” reached number 47 on the Billboard R&B singles chart.
The album cover features the late singer, actress and model Denise Mathews professionally known as Vanity of the famed pop girl group Vanity 6.
The album was dedicated to the late Polygram A&R representative, Bill Haywood; as Cameo mentions in the liner-notes of the album, "The album which he always wanted".
