The Jacksons - 2300 Jackson Street

Today Marks The 37th Anniversary of The Jacksons 16th Studio Album  “2300 Jackson Street” Originally Released on May 23, 1989.

“2300 Jackson Street” is the sixteenth and final studio album by the Jacksons, released in 1989 on Epic Records.

 

The album is named after the address of their childhood home.

 

The album is the first Jackson album to not feature siblings Michael and Marlon Jackson both left the group after the end of their 1984 Victory Tour. Although both had left the group prior to the album's recording sessions, they returned specifically to contribute vocals to this song, which also features sisters Rebbie and Janet.

 

The album 2300 Jackson Street reached #14 on the U.S. Billboard Top Black Albums chart, and at #59 on the U.S. Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.

 

Three songs were released from the as singles, Nothin' (That Compares 2 U), the album’s title track 2300 Jackson Street, and Art of Madness.

 

Nothin' (That Compares 2 U) peaked at #4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles, and at #40 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

 

2300 Jackson Street peaked at #9 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles charts.

 

Art of Madness was the third single from the album it failed to chart on the U.S. Billboard charts.

 

While the album sold over half a million copies worldwide, 2300 Jackson Street was not certified Gold or Platinum by the RIAA in the United States.
