Rick James - Deeper Still

Today Marks The 19th Anniversary of Rick James’ Final Studio Album “Deeper Still” Originally Released on May 15, 2007.

“Deeper Still” is the thirteenth and final album by American funk singer Rick James. It was released on May 15, 2007, by Stone City Records

 

“Deeper Still” was the first posthumous album from Rick James following his untimely death in 2004. The album peaked at #19 on the U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and at #195 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart in June 2007.

 

The album contains eleven songs with a few standouts including the “Do You Wanna Play which features R&B singers Howard Hewett and Johnny Gill.

 

The album’s title track “Deeper Still” received moderate airplay on urban stations upon the album’s release.

 

Other albums standouts include “Taste”, “Guinnevere,"  a cover David Crosby’s classic song and the final track title “Funk Wit Me”.
