The album peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Black LPs charts, and at #11 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes charts.
The album’s title track "The Other Woman" peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Black Singles chart,
#4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and at #24 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts.
The song "Let Me Go" was another popular song from the album.
