Today Marks The 38th Anniversary of Prince’s 10th Studio Album “Lovesexy” Originally Released on May 10, 1988.
Lovesexy is the tenth studio album by Minneapolis, Minnesota musician Prince released in 1988 on Paisley Park/Warner Bros. Records.
The album peaked at #5 on the U.S. Billboard Top Black Albums chart, and at #11 on the U.S. Billboard 200 charts.
Three singles were released from the album, Alphabet St, "Glam Slam", and "I Wish U Heaven".
“Alphabet St.” peaked at #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, #7 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Singles Sales chart, and at #8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
"Glam Slam" reached #18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The song was also released in the United Kingdom it reached #29 on the UK Singles charts.
"I Wish U Heaven" reached #18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, It was also released in the United Kingdom it reached #24 on the UK Singles charts.
The album was certified gold in the United States by the RIAA selling 500,000^ copies.
