Today Marks The 45th Anniversary of Odyssey’s 4th Studio Album “I Got the Melody” Originally Released on May 27, 1981.
“I Got the Melody” is the fourth studio album by New York City Disco/R&B group Odyssey released in 1981 on RCA Victor Records.
The album reached #62 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP chart, and at #175 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.
Two songs were released as singles from the album "Going Back to My Roots" and "It Will Be Alright".
"Going Back to My Roots" reached #55 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play and at #68 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.
"It Will Be Alright" was released in the United Kingdom it reached #44 on the UK Singles chart.
The album was produced by Steve Tyrell
