Earth, Wind & Fire - All 'n All

Today Marks The 48th Anniversary of Earth, Wind & Fire’s 8th Studio Album “All 'n All” Originally Released on November 21, 1977.

 

“All 'n All” is the eighth studio album by the R&B/Funk band Earth, Wind & Fire, released in 1977 on Columbia Records.

 

The album peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP's chart, and at #3 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes charts.

 

Four songs were released as singles from the album, "Serpentine Fire", "Fantasy", "Jupiter", and

 

"Serpentine Fire" peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Songs chart, and at #13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

 

"Fantasy" reached #12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Songs chart, and at #32 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

 

"Jupiter" reached #26 in the United Kingdom on the UK Blues & Soul charts, and at #41 on the UK singles charts.

 

"Magic Mind" reached #54 on the UK singles charts.

 

Other album classics are “Be Ever Wonderful”,  "Love's Holiday", I'll Write a Song For You  and The remake of the Beetles classic “Got to Get You Into My Life”

 

The album was certified 3× Platinum in the United States by the RIAA.

 

“All 'n All” was produced by Maurice White for Kalimba Productions.

 

All 'n All won a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo, Group or Chorus.

 

The album's instrumental, "Runnin", won a Grammy for Best R&B Instrumental.

 

All 'n All was also nominated for an American Music Award in the category of Favorite Soul/R&B Album.

 

The 1999 reissue of the album features two demos of Love's Holiday and Runnin' respectively. As well as a live rendition of Brazilian Rhyme.
