Today Marks The 52nd Anniversary of Donald Byrd’s 40th Studio Album “Street Lady” Originally Released on July 1, 1973.

“Street Lady” is a studio album by Jazz-funk trumpeter Donald Byrd released in 1973 on Blue Note Records.

“Street Lady” is the second album released on Blue Note Records with Larry Mizell returning as the producer, following the success of its predecessor album “Black Byrd”.

In the jazz funk idiom, The album is among Blue Note Records' best selling album releases.

The album’s compositions were written and composed by LarryMizell and Donald Byrd except for the song "Woman of the World" which was composed by Edward Gordon, Larry Mizell.

The album’s title track "Street Lady" was composed by Larry Mizell and Fonce Mizell.
