Today Marks The 46th Anniversary of Earth, Wind & Fire’s 9th Studio Album “I Am” Originally Released on June 5, 1979.
“I Am” is the ninth studio album by the American band Earth, Wind & Fire, released in1979 on ARC/Columbia Records.
The album peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP's chart, and at #3 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.
Five songs were released as singles from the album, "Boogie Wonderland",
"After the Love Has Gone", "In the Stone", "Star" and “Can't Let Go"
“Boogie Wonderland” peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart, #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #14 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts.
"After the Love Has Gone" peaked at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart, #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"In the Stone" peaked at #23 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart, #58 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Star" peaked at #47 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart, #64 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Can't Let Go" was released as a single in the United Kingdom it reached #46 on the UK Singles charts.
The album was produced by Maurice White, “Boogie Wonderland” was co produced by Al McKay.
The album was certified 2× Platinum in the United States selling more than 2,000,000^ copies.
The album was reissued in 2004 with three bonus tracks,
