“The Pointer Sisters” is the debut self-titled studio album by the Pointer Sisters, released in 1973 by Blue Thumb Records.
The album peaked at #3 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP's chart and at #13 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes charts.
The released two hit singles "Yes We Can Can" and "Wang Dang Doodle"
"Yes We Can Can" reached #11 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and at #12 on the U.S. Billboard Best Selling Soul Singles chart.
"Wang Dang Doodle" reached #24 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and at #61 on the U.S. Billboard Best Selling Soul Singles chart.
The album was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in February 1974.
The album was remastered and issued on CD in 2001 by MCA Records.
