The Temptations - Power

Today Marks The 45th Anniversary of The Temptations 25th Studio Album “Power” Originally Released on April 18, 1980.

“Power” is a 25th studio album from American soul, funk group the Temptations, released in 1980 on Gordy Records.

The album reached #13 on the U.S. Billboard Top Black Albums chart, and at #45 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.

Two songs were released as singles from the album the title track "Power" and

"Power" reached #11 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart, and at #43 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

"Struck by Lightning Twice" reached #55 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.

The album marked the Temptations return to Motown after a brief hiatus with Atlantic Records. It also marked the return of their longtime lead singer Dennis Edwards who resumed lead vocals after Louis Price left the group shortly after they left Atlantic Records.
