Roy Ayers - Let’s Do It

Today Marks The 47th Anniversary of Roy Ayers’s 13th Studio Album “Let's Do It” Originally Released on April 29, 1978.

“Let's Do It” is the 13th studio album by jazz funk vibraphonist and composer Roy Ayers released in 1978 on Polydor Records.

The album reached #15 on the U.S. Billboard Soul LP's chart, and at #33 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.

Two songs were released as singles from the album, "Freaky Deaky" and the album’s title track “Let's Do It”, both singles were released in 1978.

"Freaky Deaky" reached #29 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart.

The album’s title track “Let'sDo It” was released as the second single it failed to chart on the Billboard charts.

The album features contributions from Merry Clayton, Sylvia Cox and Debbie Burrell on vocals, Harry Whitaker, Armen Donelian and Philip Woo on piano, Greg Moore on guitar, Kerry Turman on bass, Bernard Purdie on drums, Chano O'Ferral on congas, Justo Almario on saxophone, and John Mosley on trumpet.

The songs “Freaky Deaky” and "You Came into My Life" features Soul, gospel singer Merry Clayton and jazz vocalist Sylvia Cox.

The album was produced by Roy Ayers and William Allen.
