Today Marks The 51st Anniversary of KC & the Sunshine Band’s Debut Studio Album “Do It Good” Originally Released on April 12, 1974.
“Do It Good” is the debut album by the American funk and disco group KC and the Sunshine Band released in 1974 on TK Records.
The album failed to chart upon it's release. Four songs were released as singles, "Blow Your Whistle", "Queen of Clubs", "Sound Your Funky Horn" and "I'm a Pushover".
"Blow Your Whistle" reached #27 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles.
"Queen of Clubs" reached #25 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles, and at #66 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
"Sound Your Funky Horn" reached #21 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles.
"I'm a Pushover" reached #57 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Soul Singles.
The album had little mainstream impact in the United States despite the popularity of the songs "Sound Your Funky Horn" and "Queen of Clubs".
The album was re-issued in 1978 with the title Queen of Clubs. The record had a new cover that featured a playing card with the Queen of Clubs on the front (the record label still gave the album title as Do It Good).
The album was remastered and reissued with bonus tracks in 2012 by Big Break Records.
