James Brown - Black Caesa


This Month Marks The 51st Anniversary of James Brown’s 35th Studio Album “Black Caesar” Originally Released in February 1973.

Black Caesar is a soundtrack album recorded by James Brown for the film of the same name and released in 1973. 

The Soundtrack peaked at #2 on the Billboard U.S. Best Selling Soul LPs chart and at #31 on the Billboard U.S. Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart.

Two singles were released from the soundtrack, "Down and Out in New York City"  and "Mama Feelgood".

"Down and Out in New York City" reached #13 on the US Billboard Best Selling Soul Singles charts and at #50 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

"Mama Feelgood" reached #37 on the US Billboard Best Selling Soul Singles charts.

The album received mixed reviews from critics, but observed "several top-notch tracks", including "The Boss", "Make It Good to Yourself", and "Mama's Dead".
