Today Marks The 28th Anniversary of Slave's 15th Studio Album " Masters Of The Fungk" Originally Released on January 23, 1996.
Masters Of The Fungk is the 15th and final studio album by Dayton, Ohio R&B/funk band Slave. It was released in 1996 through Ichiban Records.
Masters Of The Funk It is a re-recording of some of Slave's most Stellar Jams. It includes Killer Remakes of their classic hits like "Slide", "Thrill Me", "Just a Touch of Love", Watching You", "How Is This Love 2 U" and "Juicy-O". On "U Take My Breath Away", Mark "Drac" Hicks injects a Razor-Sharp Guitar Solo and Mark Adams offers signature Slap-Style Bass Riffs.
The Remake of "Slide" proves the band hasn't lost their touch since their heydays. Mark Adams shines on tracks "Barbara Jean Blvd." and the new versions of "Watching You" & "Just a Touch of Love" will take U Back 2 Fungk Heaven and leave you feeling hypnotized by their grooves one more time.
Basically, everything on this disc is SMOKIN' From Beginning To End. Slave successfully attempts to Update their classic tracks with a fresh, new twist while at the same time sticking to the sound of the original recordings. In other words, Slave breathes new life into these Fungk classics without tarnishing the original Grooves.
